Sparks Magazine is an organization that provides a mixed media platform for students to create content to engage in, develop, and understand the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) experience.  Sparks publishes a print magazine each semester and celebrates with a release party.  The release party includes entertainment from the community and an opportunity for the magazine’s writers to showcase their article and go in-depth into the process of creating the spread.

Recently, I planned second annual Sparks Leadership Summit, which was held from October 6-8. The summit included workshops and socials that provided professional resources and industry insight to students.  This event marked the first time that the three sparks chapters (University of Central Florida, University of Florida, and University of South Florida) came together for a weekend of events.  I also planned the weekend socials where it was the first time Sparks has outreached to our 200-plus alumni.
